What You Should Know About Iran Supporting Terror
Iranian support on terror in Tehran’s war poses many questions to the entire world. The major concern is whether US will finally respond in a decisive manner. For thirty good years, the Iranian government, which leads in sponsoring terrorism in the world, has murdered Americans in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and in Lebanon. These terror plots have also killed civilians in Paris, Jerusalem, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Buenos and elsewhere. This may be because Iranian regime has never faced dire consequences of hostility. They are even fearless because they are fearless to carry out a dangerous operation in USA soil.
All these operations cannot be termed as rogue operations as they are directly supported by the IRGC and Squd Supreme leader Ali Khamenei who channeled massive resources in support of abroad operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and in other places in the world. All these plots were very well planned and executed by the top Iranian government officials. It is also worth noting Quds Force, the IRGC special unit, is involved in training terror groups abroad as well as supporting Iran’s proxies both militarily and financially. The training culminate in executing terror attacks abroad. To affirm this, they normally operate from Iranian Embassies where they disguise as menial workers, lowly diplomats or administrative personnel.
There should not raise questions of where the ultimate responsibility lies in this plot because Quds Force is part of IRGC, meaning that they are bound by their Supreme Leader loyalty oath. This also mean the decision to carry out these operations is approved by the top authorities-by the supreme leader himself. For instance, the plot to assassinate Saudi Ambassador in DC is not a rogue element attack. By the look of things, this is a plan which was very well planned, approved by the top Iranian echelons and executed with very close cooperation with various missions abroad and Iranian embassies.
The whole world is watching this terror escalation which is supported by the Iranian government. For how long will this continue? The surprise to the Iranian regime is whether American government will finally respond decisively considering that the Iran has close ties with Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah. The way out is not to involve non-experts with no sound reputation in handling such global concerns. Mark Dubowitz CEO of FDD fits this profile because he is highly recognized as one of the main influencers of shaping sanctions policies for countering threats from Iran and its surrogates.
